A city in the interior of Portugal, built on a solid area of land with the mountains in the distance and all the features of a rugged district. However, several rivers also pass near the city, making it a focal point for the energies in the landscape.
Viseu has many good churches and manor houses, usually built in the Baroque style typical of the north of the country. The Cathedral and its adjoining buildings dominate the city and they are an imposing and sober sight. One of the most harmoniously balanced areas in the country, with a good quality of life.
