PARQUE NATURAL DO SUDOESTE ALENTEJANO E COSTA VICENTINA: THE WEST COAST OF THE ALGARVE
Start your trip in Aljezur and drive south on the EN120 in the general direction of Monte Clérigo. You will reach a beach into which a small rivulet flows. Keep driving south until you get to Arrifana. It’s worth stopping to admire this beach and the rock known as “Pedra da Agulha”, a natural obelisk. To resume your journey, get back onto the EN120 and take the road towards Lagos. When the road forks, head for Sagres. Follow the signs to Carrapateira and you will come to a gorgeous beach, with a long stretch of sand and well-preserved dunes. Get back onto the road again and drive to the last beach on this stretch of the coast, Praia do Amado. This is a drive of approximately 45 km through scenery of great natural beauty.
