BIKE RIDE ON THE GUINCHO BICYCLE LANE
Bike ride on the Guincho bicycle lane. This is a 5km lane that extends from the Casa da Guia, at Guia, to Guincho beach. The bicycles (known as BICAS), can be used for free, (you may have to leave your passport or other identification document to secure its return), from a booth near the Casa da Guia.
GO TO THE BEACH
Go to the beach. The beaches along the Cascais and Estoril coasts are really nice, but they become quite busy in the months of July and August.
GOLF
A place of golfing excellence. Try out Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort (214 860 100; www.quintadamarinha.com. Quinta da Marinha) and Quinta da Marinha Oitavos Golf (214 860 600: www.quinta-da-marinha.pt. Casa da Quinta, nº 5, Quinta da Marinha).
REST IN FRONT OF THE SEA AT THE CASA DA GUIA

A collection of high-end shops in a wonderful 19th Century mansion, which was the old summer residence of the Condes de Alcáçovas. Several terraces and restaurants surround it and afford a privileged view of the sea. Don’t miss it!  (214 843 215. Av. Nossa Senhora do Cabo, 101, Cascais).
WALK ALONG THE SEA WALL
Walk along the Sea Wall. From the beach of Cascais down to São João do Estoril. Alongside the sea wall there are many cafés and restaurants, in which you can take a rest and enjoy the tranquillity and peacefulness of the bluest of horizons.
WINDSURF AND KITESURF AT THE GUINCHO BEACH
Windsurf and kitesurf at the Guincho beach. This is one of the best beaches in Europe for windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing. The beach itself is very broad, it’s always windy and the sea is sometimes dangerously rough. Nevertheless, it attracts all the daredevil sports people. At one end of the beach the cliffs begin to rise leading up to the majestic Sintra mountain.
Other sea-related activities can also be enjoyed in Cascais, such as scuba-diving, sailing and boat trips in the Cascais bay.
