From the Restauradores, the Avenida da Liberdade opens up a series of very large avenues that go as far as Entrecampos, through Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo, the Saldanha roundabout and the Avenida da República. It is a more modern part of the city, and it used to be called, in its days, “New Avenues”. “Greater Lisbon”, then, stretches from this centre to the outskirts of the city.
