MUSEUM OF SACRED ART IN SÃO SEBASTIÃO CHURCH
The São Sebastião chapel, originally built in the 16th. century as can be seen from the Manueline side door, was rebuilt in the first half of the 18th. century and underwent significant architectural modifications.
The chapel is a small building with one nave which also houses a museum of sacred art containing an important collection of exhibits from churches in the municipality of Albufeira (Praça Miguel Bombarda. 10.30 am – 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm – 4 pm. Closed on Mondays)
PARISH CHURCH
This church, built at the end of the 18th. century, is an example of Algarve Neoclassical architecture. In the chancel there is an unusually large Rococo image of the patron saint of the city of Albufeira, Nossa Senhora da Conceição, that stands almost 2.50m high! (Travessa da Igreja Matriz, 6. 10 am – 12.30 pm and 3 pm – 5 pm)
