Belmonte Castle, which was the home of the family of Pedro Álvares Cabral until the 15th. century, stands on an area of high land overlooking the town and the surrounding countryside. Its remarkable Manueline window, the Cabral family coat of arms and the keep are just some of the reasons why it is worth taking a look at this elegant castle. The amphitheatre inside serves as a venue for many shows.
