Joana’s passion for travelling started early in her life. The trip she did to São Tomé e Príncipe, a former Portuguese colony in Africa, where she volunteered to rebuild a school, was definitely a life changing experience. Through several other volunteering projects she met people from all over the world, who fueled her love for travelling and getting to know and understand different cultures. This turned her into a fascinating and outgoing person who loves to meet new people. When she started an apartment rental service in Lisbon, Joana soon realized that sharing her knowledge of Portugal was like a natural gift; so working at Portugal Trails & Spain Trails is like a dream come true for her. When Joana is not travelling around Portugal or Spain – another country she loves – you can find her either hiking or cycling in Sintra’s Natural Park, just outside her hometown. An absolute foodie, Joana loves a good traditional Portuguese or Spanish meal, together with some of the fantastic wines produced in the Iberian Peninsula.
